Fundraising for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh

The Bangladeshi expatriate workers in Mauritius launched a fundraising event on the 14th September, to help the Rohingyas who have sought refuge in Bangladesh. This event was a success and 94 700 Taka (Rs 45 000) were collected in two weeks only. Babul Pramaik had the responsibility of distributing the money to the families. Around 200 to 300 families benefitted from this event. This act of solidarity was organised by Hafizur Rahman, another expatriate worker. “We believe in sharing with those who are facing difficulty. The Rohingyas are struggling for survival. I wish to thank everyone who contributed in this noble act, especially Nazrul Islam, from Abu Dhabi”, he confided.
